Our Story

Removing the barriers to studying abroad for West African students

Study Abroad Africa exists because too many talented students from Nigeria, Ghana and across West Africa never pursue their international education ambitions β€” not because they lack ability, but because the process feels impossible. We are here to change that.

Our Mission

Study Abroad Africa is a platform built specifically for Nigerian, Ghanaian and West African students who want to study at universities around the world. Our mission is to provide clear, reliable access to the information, tools and guidance students need β€” from finding the right university and scholarship, to understanding visa requirements and the full application process.

We believe that geography and access to information should not determine who gets a world-class education. Every year, thousands of West African students miss out on fully funded scholarships, free tuition opportunities in Germany and beyond, and university places they are fully qualified for β€” simply because they did not know where to look or who to trust.

Study Abroad Africa is the platform that closes that gap.

Who We Serve

Study Abroad Africa is built for students from Nigeria, Ghana and across West Africa β€” at every stage of their study abroad journey. Whether you are a final-year undergraduate exploring your options, a working professional considering a master's degree, or a student who has already started applying and needs help navigating visa requirements, our platform is designed for you.

We focus specifically on West African students because we understand the unique challenges they face β€” from proof of funds requirements and TB testing for UK visas, to finding universities that recognise WAEC results, to identifying scholarships that are genuinely open to African applicants. General international student platforms do not address these specifics. We do.

Founded by Ohiocheoya Oseni-Momodu

Study Abroad Africa was founded by Ohiocheoya Oseni-Momodu with one clear purpose: to make studying abroad genuinely accessible for students from West Africa. The platform was built on the belief that the information gap β€” not the talent gap β€” is what holds most West African students back from international education opportunities.

Study Abroad Africa brings together university data, scholarship information, visa guidance and matching tools in one place β€” so that every student who wants to study abroad has the same access to information and opportunity, regardless of their background or who they know.
